Kyla has been developing her online presence for nearly a decade, first as a crafting and lifestyle blogger and then as a web designer. She brought me on to redesign her visual branding and website as she was transitioning into being a digital business strategist.
In order to maintain a connection to the identity that Kyla had developed, we kept her existing colour scheme—and then went in a completely new direction with her logo. On our shared Pinterest board, Kyla expressed a love of colour offsets, so I made sure to include a few of those in my first round of logo options for her. That’s what she went with!
I also gave Kyla a guideline for what kind of stock photography to use for her blog posts. She had been using some photos from free stock photo sites which had a muted, hazy look. This did not match the brand that we had come up with, so I directed her to look for images with bright whites and vibrant colours.
